With the location of our departure point, we could possibly fish the Maryland or Virginia portions of the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac, or Rappahannock Rivers.
In this area, we catch a wide variety of fish. In the fall, winter and spring months, you have a great opportunity to catch trophy size Rockfish or Striped Bass. In fact, many fishing publications have called the Chesapeake Bay the best location in the United States to catch Striped Bass. Early summer provides a chance to catch croaker, while in late summer you will have the opportunity to catch bluefish, spanish mackerel, as well as the occasional red drum.
Our dock is located at 182 Captain Walter’s Ln. Reedville, VA 22539
Reedville, VA is located at the end of Rt. 360 which is at the end of the peninsula known as the Northern Neck. Reedville is approximately 3 hours from Northern Virginia (depending on traffic), 1.5 hours east of Richmond, 3 hours from the Shenandoah Valley, and 2 hours from the Tidewater area.
Depending on travel time to the fishing grounds, we typically leave the dock between 6:00 and 7:00 AM, but if your travel plans require alternate times of departure we will work with your schedule.
Your trip will typically include 8 hours on the water. However, if the weather takes a turn for the worse and results in hazardous conditions during our trip, or we limit out, we may return to the dock before the eight hour mark.
There is a great supply of lodging within a reasonable distance of our dock. This lodging ranges from four star resorts, to cottages that are rented by their owners and everything in between. When calling me for info on the trip, I will be happy to make recommendations and help arrange for your lodging.
Currently, we limit our trips to six people or less. In order to ensure that you have a comfortable day on the water, we want to make sure that you are not crowded while fishing, and have plenty of room to sit down in the cabin while we are cruising to and from the fishing grounds.
We provide all of the tackle that you will need for a successful day of fishing. However, we encourage you to bring your own tackle if you would like to. We will help you rig any rod that you bring for use during your trip.
Food, water, beverages, appropriate seasonal clothing, camera, sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, coolers to take your catch home, alcoholic beverages are allowed on the vessel.
Your daily fee includes guidance of an experienced Captain and Mate, use of our well maintained tackle, all bait and lures, fish cleaning service, ice for your coolers and a comfortable ride on a high quality well maintained vessel.
In addition to the daily fee (call for current pricing), your Mate works for you in order to ensure that you have a good day. Just as with waiters and waitresses, the majority of their income comes from gratuities. Customary tips for your Mate should be 15 to 20 percent of your charter fee.
